BFTKT Blog | Drive Your Internet Marketing Efforts With Personality

Build Personality Follow Me on Pinterest

Marketing is an intricate and is often expensive process. Many companies spend huge sums of money on marketing instead of making use of their own personality as a part of their marketing strategy. Small business owners should focus on using ingenuity and the natural appeal of their personalities to help their marketing. This post will discuss a few easy ways to market online on a shoestring budget.

1. Use Your Personality To Show Your Difference

Business owners often think it necessary to downplay their personality and assume a certain attitude when conducting business. If you put aside the real you when you interact with your customers, you may just be cheating yourself. Even though the main intent of marketing is to sell your product, your marketing should set you a part from the competition. You may be selling the same product, but you all have different personalities. When you think of Steve Jobs you think Apple. Steve was a major part of Apple?s success and he achieved this by injecting his personality into whatever he was doing.

When people think of your brand they should think of you. They are buying from an individual not just a business; therefore, give your business some character. Using your personality to help market your products will also help to build the trust between you and your customers. Your personality is a great tool for positioning your business in the marketplace, and to help build your brand. People like that feeling of being a part of something good. It gives them even more pleasure to be able to announce that they are making purchases from a certain Dan Brown of company X ? and yes, he?s that guy with his deep voice and cool dimples from that commercial. It is much easier to create a difference for your product when you add your personality.

2. Create A Label

A label will act like your online business card that bears your credentials and a photograph. It is basically a short description of you that will appear each time you make a post on a blog, in a forum, on an article or on any social media platform. With your label in place, your customers and potential customers will be able to view the information it displays about whom you are, your business and what you are offering to others. Your label acts like the note about an author on the back of a book.

Imagine you on a business forum where other users are gathered, posting and commenting. You make a comment that people find to be very helpful and they decide they want to hear more from and decide they are going to follow you. One look at your label and that potential visitor would find your basic information that would further prompt them to click through to your website. People are more prone to visit websites that look authentic and well organized. Your label acts like an attraction bidding the customers to click through to such a site.

3. Market Your Product To Businesses Just As You Do To People

Contrary to what many believe, the difference between marketing to people and marketing to businesses is not huge. Businesses are operated by people so in essence you are still selling your products to individuals. Even businesses are more attracted to companies that have a human (personality) representation. Using personality to market your product is simply one of the best ways to promote your business and achieve higher sales results.

Your marketing campaign must show off your expertise, and people must be able to easily identify the solutions that you have for their needs. A huge value is added to your marketing effort when an individual of note from the company (such as the CEO) is used to add personality to your marketing. You want your company?s image to be a representative that can command a certain level of attention because of their status.

If you do not feel that your personality is the best for the campaign, then use someone from within the business. If here is no one in the company that can suitable fulfill that role then seek someone else from outside the company. If you are not lucky enough to have a ?personality? within your company, then find someone to fit the role. Many companies do this and hire people with some level of fame, such as a local sports figure, to become the ?face? of the business. It is at this point that you may have to do the most significant spending. Hiring someone to represent your company in commercials or at certain events can cost you a modest fee.

It is safe to say all but one of the methods that have been shared in this article requires basically no spending. Using your own personality to boost your success is certainly the best option when you are operating with a limited budget. There are many faceless competitors out there and you need set your company above the competition. People want to know that your expertise and your solutions can help them, but you will most likely capture their attention if your company has a face.
